LONDON CITY GUIDE: Liv Koennecke

Profession: Founder & Creative Director, MAISON ESSNETIELE
City: London

To celebrate our launch into Liberty London, we hosted an intimate gifting suite in a private Chelsea residence. It’s an exciting new chapter for MAISON ESSENTIELE, and it was important to us to mark the occasion by connecting with our London community.

Where to Stay?

  • 1 Hotel Mayfair: A central base for exploring the city with a focus on wellbeing. Keeping up my wellness habits is super important to me while traveling.
  • St Clement Hotel: A new, design-led boutique hotel on the Thames.

Where to Shop?

  • Alex Eagle Studio: A beautifully considered concept store in Soho, bringing together fashion, furniture, homeware and art.
  • Liberty: A London institution, and now home to MAISON ESSENTIELE. Browse the fashion, beauty and homewares, alongside the iconic Liberty fabrics.
  • Dover Street Market: For discovering emerging designers alongside established labels. The displays and spaces are as inspiring as the collections.

Where to Dine?

  • Café Clement at St. Clement: An all-day restaurant and bar at 180 The Thames. Great for people watching and for something special.
  • Bottarga: Chelsea’s newest restaurant by the Pachamama Group, buzzy, low-lit and Greek-style food with a great drinks list.
  • RH Living: A beautiful gallery and concept store with a café in the centre.
  • Corner Shop: Salads, baked goods and good coffee for a relaxed lunch between appointments.
  • Daylesford Organic: An organic, seasonal lunch and a browse through the farmshop afterwards.
  • NINA: An Italian-inspired restaurant in Marylebone by the Pachamama Group.

Where to Drink?

  • Sol’s Wine Bar: A neighbourhood wine bar and deli in Bayswater, for a glass of wine and a bottle to take home.
  • Canteen, Notting Hill: A relaxed Italian spot for a glass of wine and a bite to eat.
  • Ria’s: Natural wine and pizza for a relaxed evening in Notting Hill.
  • Ducksoup: A small, intimate restaurant and wine bar in Soho, perfect for a glass after exploring the neighbourhood.

Things to Do?

Explore on foot. So much of London’s charm is in wandering through its neighbourhoods, browsing the shops and seeing what you discover along the way.
